Job Description: As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs. Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 260 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).   Responsibilities: Aircraft level Flight Mechanics specification/technical data. Elaboration, validation and justification of models/tools based on tests (bench, ground and flight) results. Development and execution of appropriate flight mechanics prediction models/tools for the static and dynamic stability, control ranges, handling qualities. Development, maintenance and documentation of the Engineering Flight Simulator’s software. Safe and correct operation of the Engineering Flight Simulator environment. Preparation of analysis reports with interpretation of the analysis results, including Type Certification compliance. Qualification & experience: University degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in rotorcraft flight mechanics Proven experience with FlightLab; familiarity with other flight‑mechanics prediction tools is considered an asset. Skilled with Matlab, C/C++ and Python. Basic knowledge of network protocols (UDP/TCP). Good communication skills and experience in presenting results. B2 English level, both verbal and written. Good team player skills, self-driven attitude. Please note, that this job is only open to candidates holding a valid Swiss Working Permit/ EU Nationals/ Swiss Nationals.
