Job Description na This role is responsible for the delivery of strategic data tools and analytics initiatives within the Old Mutual Corporate Customer Team. The focus is on developing, maintaining, and enhancing data-driven reporting and insight capabilities that support improved retirement outcomes and long-term value for members, employers, intermediaries, and Old Mutual Corporate stakeholders. Old Mutual Corporate aims to be a leading provider of data-driven insight in the retirement industry, enabling informed decision-making through high-quality, actionable analytics. This role plays a critical part in advancing that ambition by translating complex data into meaningful insights that influence strategy, fund design, and customer outcomes. The role sits within the Business Intelligence function in the Customer Team and reports to the Head of Business Intelligence. We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst who will take ownership of the technical delivery, operational stability, and ongoing enhancement of a suite of analytical dashboards, calculators, and decision-support tools. The team currently manages multiple data products built on collaborative and advanced analytics platforms, including SQL, Python, R, Alteryx, and Power BI. The incumbent will be accountable for the technical operation, governance, and risk management of these tools, ensuring data accuracy, robustness, performance, and scalability. Strong hands-on platform expertise is therefore essential. In addition, the role will work closely with the Head of Business Intelligence to design and build new data flows, analytical models, dashboards, and tools aligned to strategic business priorities. This includes contributing to the evolution of the Customer Team’s data capability and supporting the delivery of broader data and insight strategies. The role requires a strong understanding of retirement and financial services contexts, as well as the ability to communicate insights clearly and credibly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate will bring a well-rounded skill set across data analysis, business intelligence, solution delivery, stakeholder engagement, and project execution, with a clear focus on driving impact through insight. Responsibilities Day-to-day operations will include: Collecting, sanitising, analysing and interpreting data to provide insights primarily to internal and management teams for business use. Visualising internal and external data flows and sets for valuable insights Assisting in designing and developing new or enhanced reports, dashboards, and other data visualisation tools to help internal and external stakeholders understand and act on data insights. Managing the technical operations of our data-driven tools, including troubleshooting and maintenance. Assisting in collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and business intelligence. Mathematically modelling scenarios and future projections/scenarios Managing and prioritising multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results. Presenting insights and results to internal and external stakeholders Technical Knowledge Proficient knowledge of technical data and visualisation platforms Quality Assurance Adheres to service and quality standards. Produce accurate outputs within required deadlines. Operational Efficiency Adheres to year planners of required deliveries of reports and outputs Generally operates and liaises with stakeholders Ensures that all deadlines and SLA requirements are met. Continually looks for ways to improve time standards by streamlining processes and passing this on to the relevant person/team. Manages and identifies enhancements required to improve operational effectiveness and process automation. Relationship Building Builds relationships with stakeholders, seniors, peers and/or colleagues that impact across business areas. Personal Effectiveness Accepts and lives the company values. Minimum qualification(s) required: Grade 12 plus Bachelor's degree in data analysis, statistics, mathematics, data science, business intelligence, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field. Proficient in platforms like R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI and other data analysis tools. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
