Job Summary The Relationship Executive: Small Business (FAIS) is responsible for optimising the profitability and economic value of a portfolio of Small Business key account clients, with a primary focus on the Agricultural sector. The role focuses on: • Origination of new clients within the Agri value chain; • Deepening and cross selling within an existing client portfolio; and • Providing dedicated relationship management and tailored financial solutions aligned to the Small Business Customer Value Proposition (CVP). While the primary focus will be on Agricultural clients, the portfolio may include clients from other sectors as required. Job Description 1. Relationship Management Act as the primary relationship owner, serving as the central point of contact for clients’ commercial and investment banking needs. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with Agricultural clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of their business cycles, funding requirements, and market dynamics. Engage proactively with clients to identify opportunities that support business growth, sustainability, and resilience. 2. Client Solutioning Take full accountability for end‑to‑end service delivery by coordinating cross‑functional teams, including Transactional Banking, Credit, Client Control, Client Service, and Product or Sector Specialists. Design and deliver bespoke financial solutions across the agricultural value chain, including working capital, asset finance, seasonal funding, and risk management solutions. Ensure all client solutions align with customer needs, the bank’s risk appetite, and profitability objectives. 3. Portfolio & Risk Management Proactively manage the risk profile of the portfolio through regular reviews, monitoring, and client engagement. Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and governance frameworks, including industry‑specific legislation impacting the agricultural sector. Ensure timely credit reviews, compliance checks, and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation strategies. 4. Business Development & Growth Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Agricultural value chain, including primary producers, processors, agri‑input suppliers, and agri‑related SMEs. Leverage internal partnerships and external networks to grow the portfolio and strengthen Absa’s footprint in the Agri market. Drive client acquisition and retention by consistently delivering on the Small Business CVP and maintaining high client satisfaction. 5. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen market positioning and client outcomes. Provide insights on market trends, sector performance, and policy or regulatory changes impacting the Agricultural sector.
