Job Summary Synechron is seeking an experienced Google DevOps Administrator to join our cloud infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments, with a focus on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). You will lead efforts in cluster setup, security, automation, and ongoing management, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for enterprise-critical applications. Your role will support the organization’s digital transformation by delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable cloud infrastructure solutions. Software Requirements Required: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Docker, scripting languages such as Bash or Python, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Cloud Build, Buildkite) Preferred: Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, Firewall management tools, Monitoring and logging tools (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana), Network security tools Experience level: At least 5 years in cloud administration, with minimum 3 years focused on GKE environment management and configuration Overall Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain GCP infrastructure with emphasis on GKE setup, scaling, and security configurations Manage and optimize firewall and network settings to ensure secure access and compliance with organizational policies Automate deployment pipelines and infrastructure provisioning using scripting and automation tools Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance improvements to ensure high availability Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to align infrastructure with business needs and best practices Maintain documentation related to architecture, procedures, and operational protocols Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and security audits to ensure resilience and compliance Continuously evaluate new cloud features and best practices to enhance infrastructure efficiency and sustainability Technical Skills (By Category) Programming Languages: Required: Bash, Python (for scripting automation tasks) Preferred: Other scripting languages such as Go or Ruby Databases/Data Management: Basic knowledge of cloud-native databases and storage solutions (Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage) Cloud Technologies: Required: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud IAM, VPC, Firewall, Cloud Run (preferred) Preferred: Anthos, Cloud Functions, Cloud Endpoints Frameworks and Libraries: Container orchestration best practices, Kubernetes YAML, Helm charts Development Tools & Methodologies: CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, Jenkins, Buildkite), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager), Agile frameworks Security Protocols: Identity and access management, network security, encryption, vulnerability assessment Experience Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud environment management and administration At least 3 years of direct experience managing GKE and related GCP services in enterprise settings Hands-on experience with containerization, automation, and security configurations in cloud environments Industry experience in finance, fintech, or regulated sectors is preferred but not essential Alternative: Extensive experience managing large-scale cloud infrastructures with other providers (AWS, Azure) with a focus on GCP features and migration capabilities Day-to-Day Activities Configure, deploy, and maintain GKE clusters, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and available Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code tools Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance and security enhancements Collaborate with development teams for deploying containerized applications and infrastructure components Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures Conduct routine security reviews, firewall configurations, and compliance checks Document configurations, workflows, and operational procedures Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent work experience acceptable Certifications such as GCP Professional Cloud Architect, GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, or equivalent are desirable Proven experience managing GCP infrastructure, especially GKE, in enterprise environments Deep understanding of cloud network architecture, security protocols, and automation practices Commitment to continuous professional growth and staying current with GCP advancements Professional Competencies Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on infrastructure resilience Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Ability to work independently, own tasks, and deliver results under pressure Flexibility and adaptability to evolving cloud technologies and security standards Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail in configuration and documentation Focus on building scalable, sustainable, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure solutions S​ YNECHRON’S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STATEMENT   Diversity & Inclusion are fundamental to our culture, and Synechron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
