Our challenge We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Lead Java Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable, robust enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, Kafka, and Angular. Ideal candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing complex solutions, leading technical initiatives, and driving best practices. Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level web applications and services. Architect and develop microservices using Java with Spring Boot, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable. Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with various systems and third-party services. Develop, test, and deploy front-end applications using Angular, ensuring a responsive and user-friendly interface. Work with Kafka for event-driven architecture, stream processing, and real-time data ingestion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers within the team. Implement best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation. Participate in architectural discussions and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong professional experience in Java full stack development. Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. Hands-on experience working with Kafka and building event-driven systems. Proficiency in front-end development using Angular (version 8+ preferred). Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous. Solid understanding of API design, data modeling, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL). Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect scalable solutions. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Preferred, but not required: Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, Maven, Git). Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack). We offer: A highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
