Quality Assurance Auditor - 2nd Shift Quality Assurance Auditor- Evening Shift In this role, you will apply established quality criteria, regulatory standards, measurement skills, and keen attention to detail to ensure conformance of incoming materials and finished product. You will ensure that our customers receive the world’s finest Resilient Wedge Gate Valves for water utility applications. Your skills will be put to the test in a fast-paced environment where we assemble materials from multiple domestic and international vendors. Our goal is not only to provide the world’s finest water valves, but also to establish and maintain best-in-class quality management practices to support the production of the next generation of water infrastructure products. These products are critical for delivering clean and safe drinking water to communities across North America. Our manufacturing methods include foundry (ductile iron), machining, powder coating, assembly, and other external processes. This role is focused on conducting quality audits, verifying process adherence, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting corrective and preventive action activities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with foundry operations, machining processes, coating applications, and mechanical assembly. We maintain an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system and require quality inspections and testing for internal processes, purchased components, and finished products. Across these processes, the ideal candidate will collaborate and support the quality, manufacturing, and materials management teams to sustain and continuously improve Mueller’s Quality Management System. Primary Responsibilities: Inspect parts and components as received for conformance to specifications. Audit finished goods shipments for adherence to standards. Inspect final assemblies for defects and conformance to specifications. Participate in 3rd party inspection processes. Inspect international shipments. Engage and support manufacturing technicians and management to implement best practices for audit and inspection processes.. Participate in cross-functional teams for problem solving and process improvement. Support activities related ISO Certifications, Recertification's, and Non-conformance reviews to ensure Chattanooga Plant’s QMS conformance to ISO 9001:2015 standards. Participate in the internal audit and layered process audit function. Execute corrective action plans. Review and analyze product and material specifications to ensure regulatory conformance of finished products. Interact with materials management, supply chain management, and vendors to ensure the quality of purchased parts and materials. Qualifications: Associates degree in a technical field 5+ years in the Quality discipline 5+ years in manufacturing plant(s) environment Strong experience & background with ISO 9001:2015 standards Proven track record of consistently meeting goals and objectives Proficiency in MS office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word Expertise with 3D scanning technologies and measurement systems Basic understanding of GD&T Able to use measuring tools, gauges, and calipers Position is in Chattanooga, TN Preferred Qualifications Ability to translate strategic direction(s) into actionable and demonstrable results Strong analytical and communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Willing to work any shift Able to work independently
