Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee The purpose of this role is to underwrite business in accordance with the business plan within set underwriting guidelines, service standards and within individual earned or delegated underwriting authority.. This role involves underwriting complex new businesses, and offering specialist advice. Additionally, the role is responsible for building and maintaining broker relationships, applying technical expertise, contributing to business results, staying informed about industry standards and new product introductions and coaching and mentoring Underwriters and Assistant Underwriters. As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.   Your New Role Understand and support underwriters in delivering the business plan Support senior underwriters in underwriting, pricing and system entries for existing and new account business Comply with internal and external regulations and guidelines Comply with Underwriting Authorities, legal and regulatory requirements, peer review and underwriting standards/best practices Comply with agreed aggregate management guidelines Build and maintain relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders Develop an understanding of market dynamics and market cycle awareness Participate in all relevant meetings to gain knowledge and best practice Maintain and develop expertise and through appropriate learning and development activities   About You Moderate relevant reinsurance experience Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
