Job Description To take ultimate accountability for all aspects of risk at a C& I Invest level Collaborate with the other members of the C and I Invest Exco to set meaningful risk objectives and strategy for the business to ensure sustainability Provide independent oversight, challenge and direction for risk and ensure practices are at the forefront of risk management Drive the strategic planning and decision-making process to optimise risk return balance Anticipate and proactively drive management processes to ensure the risk profile remains in line with risk appetite Maintain oversight of financial resource allocation and management, and risk management including reporting to various committees Review each individual subsidiaries end-to-end business processes Identify gaps and weaknesses in the business which could give risk to risk Collaborate with in-country teams to develop remedial action plans Provide a full risk report per subsidiary Monitor implementation of remedial actions against deadlines Contribute to the development of larger overall area budget Develop the budget for the next financial year for area of responsibility taking all operational plans into consideration Research and design a longer term financial resource requirement plan for the area of responsiblity Present the business case to motivate for financial resources Analyse and develop implementation plans against the forecasted financial budget Develop tactical budget for area of responsibility that minimises expenditure and manages costs Control the budget for area including the authorisation of expenditures and implementation of financial regulations Initiate dialogue to build professional working relationships with all stakeholders displaying excellent abilities to listen, advise, influence, negotiate and present at all levels Lead and facilitate difficult conflict situations into consensual agreements Integrate opinions and information provided by various sources to make strategic decisions Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences Continually scan the industry to identify opportunities to create strategic partnerships with key individuals and bodies Job Details Take note that applications will not be accepted on the below date and onwards, kindly submit applications ahead of the closing date indicated below. 23/03/26 All appointments will be made in line with FirstRand Group’s Employment Equity plan.
