PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To manage relevant risks within area of accountability by identifying, managing and mitigating risk in accordance with defined business appetite and aligned to relevant risk frameworks and policies. Are you someone who can: Identify, measure, assess, report and monitor risks within the designated portfolio (includes credit origination, collateral management, on-going risk management and collections), measuring alignment to risk appetite; Review and challenge credit model management through a risk governance lens, supporting compliance to IFRS 9 Measure compliance to regulatory requirements for credit management (BID 2) Analyse portfolio performance to identify emerging risks and opportunities for process re-engineering and performance improvement. Design and build insightful informatics to formulate, assess and analyse trend analysis that feed into informative risk profile reports Perform deep dives with a curious mind to review, challenge and seek to improve risk profile Underpin risk reporting with data integrity risk aggregation reporting principles (BCBS 239) Conduct in depth root cause analyses to assess effectiveness of design of risk mitigation action strategies. Prepare and analyse risk reports for presentation at various Risk Committees, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Drive an integrated assurance approach by collaborating with internal stakeholders and assurance partners to manage key risk matters. Develop and maintain a monitoring plan to ensure coverage of key controls and compliance with relevant risk control frameworks. Build and nurture a strong risk culture and continuous improvement in risk maturity Track and report progress on risk strategy implementation to relevant governance forums and escalate significant risk issues as needed You will be an ideal candidate if you meet the below requirements: Relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification in Chartered Accountancy, Mathematics & Applied Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, Informatics and/or Risk Management Experience in Banking Sector Credit department Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial services or banking, with at least 2 years middle management role. Strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance structures, and regulatory requirements. Experience in data analysis, risk reporting, and the use of risk management tools.
