As a Mid-Level Data Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain scalable, high-impact data pipelines and platforms that power analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You’ll collaborate closely with BI analysts, data analysts, and business stakeholders to turn complex requirements into well-engineered, trusted data products. Engineer high-quality, well-modelled data products that power analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption across the business. Partner with analysts, BI teams, and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions that unlock actionable insights. Drive data engineering initiatives that improve data reliability, performance, and accessibility, directly supporting better customer experiences and operational efficiency What We Are Looking For:  Qualifications: A relevant Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Sciences, Statistics, or Engineering.   Experience: A minimum of 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering and Analytics with a proven ability to develop and implement data solutions.   Strong proficiency  in ETL tools, particularly Ab Initio, and experience with Teradata for data warehousing.   Proficient in programming languages and technologies such as SQL, Python, PySpark , and Scala.   Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Control-M and experience with data visualization tools is a plus.   Solid experience with Big Data processing High level of accuracy and quality control, ensuring consistency and integrity of data throughout the pipeline   Strong analytical skills with problem-solving techniques and meticulous attention to detail.  Relevant experience and/or a keen interest in exploring artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to enhance data processing and insights.  A knack for translating complex data into actionable business recommendations.   A passion for innovation and a desire to drive positive change in the life insurance industry.  #Post #FNB #LI-AR2 Job Details Take note that applications will not be accepted on the below date and onwards, kindly submit applications ahead of the closing date indicated below. 14/03/26 All appointments will be made in line with FirstRand Group’s Employment Equity plan.
