The Production Packer is responsible for proper and safe operation and support of all winders, glue machines, folder/stackers, conveyors, tapers; packaging and finished goods. Including scrap reduction, housekeeping and quality standards. Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Competent in reading and understanding a Traveler. Conducts regular visual Quality Checks, as permitted per Line performance and/or Line/s speed. Recognizes and reports non-conforming product to Operator, Quality Auditor, Team Lead or Production Supervisor immediately. Assists Operator/s as needed throughout the Shift to enhance safety, quality, housekeeping and production. Recognizes and ensures that all packaging, including Labels, Boxes, Cartons, Sleeves, Twist-Ties, Julian Date Code and Pallet Pattern conform to quality standards. Maintains a neat and organized working station by meeting housekeeping standards as required by Plant. Participates in the Safety Near Misses and Observations Program entry, as required. Safely operates ALL equipment, including and not limited to; Winders, Carton Magazines, Glue Guns, Tapers, Pallet Lifters, Tie-Matic Machine, etc. Reports any safety concerns, hazards or acts to Production Supervisor/Team Lead immediately. Capable of attending multiple Lines based on bag count and Line speed, as deemed necessary by Management. Participates in employee driven teams to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues. Other duties may be assigned, as needed.
