Associate Network Monitoring Technician / Network Monitoring Technician at Fort Greely, Alaska, supporting the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program for the Systems Integration Test and Readiness (SITR) contract.   Job Responsibilities:   In this role, you will be responsible for startup, configuration, monitoring, and analysis of GFC/C software. Monitor GMD assets and reports status. Analyzes operational issues and assists with test/exercise events. Participates in scheduled system and site transitions. Effectively interfaces and communicates with military and government customers to provide problem resolution. Performs workstation and server log management. The qualified candidate will also Support the operation of the GMD Communications Network (GCN) through effective monitoring and management of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) devices. Utilize training, knowledge, and experience to analyze, document, and report anomalies, determine cause, offer solutions, and implement corrective action when required. Understand and execute standard operating procedures to maximize operational availability. The qualified candidate will support customer deliverables, process development, and improvement. This position requires collaboration and team building across multiple program IPTs, sub-contractors, and extensive customer engagement. Monitors GMD assets, promptly and accurately reporting changes in status. This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Network Monitoring Technician or a Network Monitoring Technician level. Basic Qualifications: Associate Network Monitoring Technician : High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience Network Monitoring Technician : High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience. Computer hardware/software experience (e.g.: Windows, Linux, Office 365, routers, switches) The eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+) certification or higher IAW DoD 8140 requirements Effectively responds to work schedule changes as needed to support mission requirements. Must be able to accommodate and support a 24 hour per day/7 day per week/365 day per year work schedule. Preferred Qualifications: BS Computer Science or STEM Degree Possesses a DoD Interim Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance. Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and Cisco IOS commands Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX commands Experience using Microsoft Windows, SolarWinds Orion Platform, VMWare ESXi, and Active Directory Knowledge of Information Security best practices such as centralized authentication and multi-factor authentication Preference given to candidates with understanding of the Linux command line interface and standard tools. Travel Preference given to candidates with understanding of the Linux command line interface and standard tools. Primary Level Salary Range: $47,200.00 - $78,600.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
