Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be onsite in Palmdale, CA . Support a program and mission assurance team in Program Depot Maintenance (PDM). Deliver focused efforts in design review, nonconforming material processing, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, manufacturing, flight operations, research and development as they apply to the mission assurance statement of work. Prepare malfunction and corrective action reports while holding manufacturing accountable for root cause and corrective action deliverables. Review all necessary product and system documentation to ensure process compliance and requirement needs are met. Work closely with program partners to validate flow of requirements. Plan and develop the required processes to identify potential product performance impacts as early as possible. Deliver product development engagement through oversight of processes, procedures and standard adherence to ensure that product design continuously meets customer requirements. Oversee product qualification testing and provide guidance when needed. Provide program integration testing oversight via test procedure review, test witnessing, troubleshooting and buy off. Perform audits to identify deficiencies, nonconformances, and negative performance trends and failures. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance. High level organizational skills to support concurrent taskings along with strong computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Responsibilities: Participate/Facilitate root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations to address non-conformances, ensuring effective resolution and continuous improvement. Execute non-conformance processing from initiate to disposition and collaborate with internal and external customers. Deliver fact-based decision points to leadership through daily/weekly metrics and reviews. Ensure product qualification and provide guidance through AS9100 FAI process. Collaborate with manufacturing operations to ensure quality standards are in place. Working knowledge of DD FORM 250; Hardware Kit Reviews; Contractual Documents; Government Source Inspection (GSI); Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR); Pre-Induction and Delivery of Air Vehicles; and Factory Accountability. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. 5 years’ experience related to Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Integration. High competence in AS9100 nonconforming material processing. Accomplished in Lean Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis processes. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs The ability to work 1st shift and any work schedule Preferred Qualifications: Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background Experience engaging with manufacturing on the shop floor to provide solutions Program Depot Maintenance (PDM) AS9100D Certified Certified Quality Engineer Secret Clearance Periodic Re-investigation within the last 5 years Special Access Program (SAP) Current Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
