THE ROLE The Senior Service Center Technician is responsible for evaluating and repairing submersible wastewater pumps (Flygt) at branch locations. This role includes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Product-specific training will be provided. This position may also involve customer interaction. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily: Evaluate, repair, and conduct mechanical and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps Operate industrial equipment in a shop environment (forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.) Use company-provided hand and power tools safely and effectively Maintain accurate records within Xylem’s work-order management system Create and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Safeguard company property and equipment Demonstrate a High-Impact Culture through innovation, accountability, and empowerment Collaborate effectively in a team environment Work independently in most situations QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED 2–5 years of technical work experience Electrical and/or mechanical experience required Experience in process water is considered an asset Experience working on submersible pumps is a plus, but not required Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work is performed in an industrial shop environment where the use of PPE is required May include exposure to hazardous materials and loud noise Requires prolonged standing and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs Overtime may be required Occasional travel may be necessary for training OUR COMMITMENT At Xylem, we embrace diversity and strive to create an inclusive workplace where employees feel valued and supported through our DE&I initiatives and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). The estimated salary range for this position is $28 to $35 per hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
