Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary The Yokoyama lab is seeking a dedicated technician to contribute to advancing immune responses in cancer therapy. Our current research focuses on understanding how certain tumors evade detection by immune cells during immunotherapy, making the treatment less effective. Specifically, we investigate the role of natural killer cells in this evasion process and how to leverage these cells to eliminate resistant tumors. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive on-the-job training to work with both preclinical models and clinical specimens. Core techniques will include preclinical tumor models, in vitro culture assays, flow cytometry, and molecular biology methods. Responsibilities include assisting with technical aspects of studies and experiments, thorough documentation, and data analysis. This position involves close collaboration with investigators, staff, trainees, and personnel from partnering laboratories. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Assists the investigator or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment. Maintains files on research and assists with data entry. Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.  Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
