Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Our pediatric surgery office provides comprehensive care for children and adolescents with a wide range of conditions, including congenital anomalies and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, abdomen, chest, head and neck. Our physicians and staff are trusted experts delivering compassionate care, a precise diagnosis, and conservative treatment plans. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will work closely with our physicians and nurse practitioners with responsibilities such as patient phone triage, referrals, patient education, and coordination of care. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will cover clinics primarily at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and possibly at Children's Specialty Care Center in West County, South County and additional off site clinics as needed. This positions work site is on campus with the possibility of hybrid. This position is Monday through Friday, days. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Previous experience in pediatrics is preferred yet we are open to RN candidates with exceptional written, oral communication, and organizational skills. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician. Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources. Assists physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance. Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.
