Will be required to work with cleaning chemicals and must be able to understand their safety data sheets. Responsible for hard surface, carpet, and wood floors, scheduled by the supervisor in public areas and as requested by customers, utilizing commercial equipment. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Canvas areas of responsibility daily. Assesses the thoroughness and quality of floors on campus. Provides floor maintenance services to the campus. Performs daily cleaning services in customer and public areas and floor care as assigned. Performs major floor maintenance tasks, including stripping and refinishing, scrubbing and topcoating, and burnishing. Performs major floor maintenance tasks, including carpet extraction, spotting, carpet bonneting, and large-area vacuuming. Utilizes vacuum cleaners, brushes, cleaning chemicals, floor finish, and other materials related to hard surface floor and carpet cleaning. Works with cleaning chemicals and understands their safety data sheets. Performs all floor tech procedures, from proper setup to proper cleanup of the work site and all equipment used for the hard surface or carpet-cleaning project. Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions 3rd shift schedule is typically Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM. Alternative work schedule as a regular part of the job (weekends). ​ Physical Effort Exposure to chemicals. Exposure to moving machinery. Frequent lifting of 25 lbs or more. Typically bending, crouching, and stooping. Typically standing or walking. Ability to move to on and off-campus locations. Equipment Heavy equipment (buffers).
