This role is accountable for the sales of products, services, solutions, or projects within Japan, driving growth in collaboration with the P&L and regional marketing & sales teams. The Segment Leader gathers customer feedback and provides input on product and solution definitions and requirements. They also work closely with commercial and product marketing teams, as well as global and international strategic marketing, to lead the deployment of innovative modality strategies. As a member of the Japan Ultrasound leadership team, the Segment Leader defines appropriate channels (direct, indirect, digital), regional go-to-market strategies, and key commercial enhancement programs. They manage quarterly and annual forecasts for market/orders/sales/profit, set annual targets, and ensure achievement against those goals. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Possess deep product knowledge. Lead and foster GE HealthCare’s values of integrity and teamwork. Manage the domestic sales team: recruit, train, and develop talent to maximize effectiveness. Promote cross-segment collaboration to enhance commercial strength and growth opportunities. Collaborate with product and marketing managers to develop growth strategies for equipment and service businesses. Ensure optimal sales coverage in each region, review and improve performance of regional sales managers and teams. Work closely with global and international product managers to drive product releases that support customer satisfaction, international market opportunities, and growth potential. As part of Japan’s senior leadership team, ensure seamless teamwork with equipment/service operations and other channels to deliver customer satisfaction. Promote cross-modality collaboration to maximize product synergies and P&L sales. Deploy resources to achieve financial and operational goals such as orders, revenue, contribution margin, and cost control. Proactively identify customer needs and develop/implement tailored solutions. Ensure all direct reports have approved annual goals and objectives, and receive performance evaluations based on them. Maintain deep knowledge and understanding of modality market trends and requirements. Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Leverage industry trends in decision-making. Identify unmet needs and lead portfolio management. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and evaluate the value of new commercial concepts and technologies. Participate in or lead the development of modality growth playbooks and marketing blueprints. Align cross-business marketing resources with modality priorities to deliver unified messaging and comprehensive value propositions to customers. Lead market research and analysis. Provide input on pricing strategies for existing and new products. Support strategy development for modality markets: Define strategies for growth (sales and profitability). Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in commercial or product management roles. Strong business acumen and experience in product domains. Experience collaborating with internal teams and external customers in solution-based sales processes. Ability to solve complex problems within functional or specialized areas. Strong communication skills to simplify and convey complex issues. Willingness and ability to travel regularly within Japan. Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese. Preferred Qualifications: Proven track record of thought leadership and clear strategic thinking. Experience managing professional sales managers. Experience working in a matrix environment within a large corporation. Ability to energize, develop, and build rapport across all organizational levels. Proven leadership in aligning resources and motivating teams. Experience managing P&L. Inclusive leadership that builds workforce connections through personal engagement and trust.
